Privacy policy
Your photographs are yours. SpeedCull for Mac processes your shoot locally, and you choose when to export your ratings.
Who is responsible
SpeedCull is published by Will Burrard-Lucas, based in the United Kingdom. For privacy questions or requests, use the SpeedCull contact form on FrontierTwo. This policy covers this website and the Mac-first App Store edition, including its TestFlight builds. Separately distributed development editions have additional testing privacy disclosures.
Photos and culling on your Mac
SpeedCull reads photographs you choose and creates local previews, catalogues and culling decisions such as star ratings and pick/reject flags. RAW processing is local and the app does not rewrite RAW originals or upload your shoot. Your chosen storage or backup service may sync files independently under its own settings.
Writing XMP sidecars and exporting ratings are explicit actions. A local Lightroom plug-in handoff includes file paths and identifiers so ratings can be matched to the correct photographs. You do not need a SpeedCull account.
Diagnostics and TestFlight
Processing diagnostics stay local unless you choose to share them. They may include filenames, camera details, technical device information and errors: review them before sending. Apple may provide TestFlight feedback and crash diagnostics according to your settings and its terms. These editions do not include third-party advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs.
Support
We receive the email address, message and attachments you choose to send. Support uses Cloudflare Email Routing and our support inbox provider, Help Scout. We use this information to answer requests, investigate problems and maintain appropriate support history—not to sell your data or enrol you in marketing.
We rely on our legitimate interests in helping users and operating a reliable, secure service for support and essential service/security processing, and comply with applicable legal obligations. Please send only what is needed to explain your issue. A general enquiry does not require your photo library or RAW originals.
This website
This is a static information site. We do not add advertising trackers, marketing analytics, newsletter forms or non-essential cookies. Hosting and delivery providers, including Cloudflare and OpenAI Sites, process technical request information such as IP address, browser details and request time to deliver and protect the site. Essential security cookies and provider logs follow their policies: Cloudflare and OpenAI. External links have their own privacy policies.
Storage and deletion
Local catalogues, previews and decisions remain until you remove them. Clearing previews does not erase ratings, catalogues, logs or backups. Export or back up decisions before uninstalling.
We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to resolve requests, maintain useful support history and meet legal obligations. Retention of Apple and hosting-provider records follows their policies and settings. We do not promise a fixed deletion period for systems we do not control.
Your choices and rights
You choose which folders the app can access through Apple's permission controls. You can ask about, access, correct or delete personal information we hold, and request restriction, object to applicable processing or request portability where the law provides these rights. We may need to verify your identity to protect your information. Some requests are subject to legal limits.
Our providers may process information outside the UK under their applicable transfer safeguards. Contact us with any concerns. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data-protection authority.
Changes
The initial App Store editions do not include AI photo analysis. Any future AI service or materially different data use will be explained separately before you choose to use it. Policy updates will appear here with a new date.
